Mrs. Brenda Kay Laney Eldridge, age 69, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021, at Community Hospice Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

She was born January 2, 1952, in Elliott County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Blanche Maxine Barker Laney.

Brenda was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed working her local businesses and was known as a welcoming face at Outback Tanning in Grayson, Kentucky, for many years. Brenda enjoyed traveling to flea markets to finding treasures as she would say and going to festivals in their spare time. Brenda was full of life, loving the outdoors, farming, and her flowers, but most of all her passion for painting, which several of her prints of the Prichard High School are still hanging today in the Carter County Courthouse and other city buildings. She also has painted prints of the Elliott County High School hanging in many places, her paintings of many homeplaces are a treasure to so many families still today. Brenda lived for her children, a loving mother, and grandmother she wanted the best for all of them, and always wanted them to look at things through her eyes and look beyond the surface at the beauty that few could see. She also enjoyed cooking and making everyone laugh and feeling happy about life.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 Years, Billy Franklin Eldridge, three brothers, Dean Laney, James Laney, and John Laney.

Brenda is survived by two sons, Woodrow David Eldridge (Missy) of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; and Billy Russell Eldridge of Grayson, Kentucky; two daughters, Teresa Baker (Gary) of Cattlesburg, Kentucky; and Elaina Dawn Malone of Grayson, Kentucky; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Laney and Joe Laney (Jennifer) all of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; and one sister, Donna Gilliam (Franklin). She also leaves other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at the Grayson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Grayson, Kentucky, with Brother Dewayne Laney officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021, Grayson Funeral Home and Cremation Services for Mrs. Brenda Kay Laney Eldridge.
