Funeral services held Feb. 13 for Mrs. Applewhite

Services for Mrs. Jenette Stone Applewhite, age 81, were held February 13 at 3 pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Officiating were Revs. G.T. Dukes & Kermit McGregor.

Burial was in the church cemetery, Oliver Funeral Home in charge of arrangement.

Mrs. Applewhite, the wife of the late J.V. Applewhite, died February 11 at Tyler Holmes Hospital, following an extended illness. She was a native of Montgomery Co. and a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist. Church.

Surviving are three children, John Erza Applewhite, Kilmichael; Joe K. Applewhite, Winona; Mrs. Ora Henderson, Gonzales, La.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ora Edwards, French Camp, and Mrs. Myrtle Townsend, Kilmichael.

She had 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Rancie Brantly, Rupert Stevens, Richard Stone, Billy F. McClurg, Buster Montague, and Buddy Greenlee.
