FLINTSTONE - Melinda Swearengin Knight, 50, left for her Heavenly home after a 7 year courageous battle with stage 4 breast cancer.
She grew up in the Hixson area and graduated from Hixson High School. Melinda graduated from UTC with a bachelor's and master's degree in the science of nursing. She worked for an anesthesia group as a CRNA that provided several area hospitals. Melinda was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Rossville. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going on trips. Melinda was preceded in death by her father, Donald Swearengin.
Survivors are her husband of 19 years, Aaron Knight; children, Dedra, Meagan, Aaron, II and Chloe Knight; mother, Peggy Swearengin; sister, Sheila Wilson (Randy); niece, Leah Conroy (Tyler); nephew, Adam Wilson and extended family.
Services will be on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eddie Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood East Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. p.m.
Facemask will be required and all social distancing practices in place.
