ETHEL'S OBITUARY
At the age of 101, Ethel Mae Thomas of Muncie, Indiana passed away under loving care at home the morning of Wednesday, May 26, 2021. She was born on October 30, 1919 in Morehead, Kentucky to William Baldwin and Rosa Belle (Coldiron) Sloan.

Ethel made her way to Muncie, Indiana and met the love of her life, Lewis Thomas. They married in 1944 and together they began life's journey. She became a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She never met a stranger. She loved to travel, shop, and eat out. Watching soap operas was also something she enjoyed doing. Her favorite hymn was "Just a Closer Walk with Thee." She finally gets to walk closely with Jesus.

Ethel is survived by her sons, Michael Thomas (Linda) and Sam Thomas (Wendy); daughters, Shannon Snyder (Larry), Kimberly Campbell, Clara Boyle (Rich), and Judy Mullis; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed, and all the memories will be held dear.

Living such a long life meant losing many loved ones along the way. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, William Baldwin and Rosa Belle (Coldiron) Sloan; husband, Lewis Thomas; son, Roger Thomas; son-in-law, William Campbell; grandson, Jason Thomas; four brothers; and two sisters.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Lumpkin, Kindred Hospice, and all of the staff members who lovingly cared for Ethel and her family during this time.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home, officiated by Brenton Hill.
