Steve Swystun - November 18, 1914 - January 8, 2008

SWYSTUN - Steve. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Steve Swystun, on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at the age of 93 years. Steve was born on November 18, 1914 and lived his entire life in the Hafford area.

He passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter in Saskatoon, surrounded by his wife and children. Surviving Steve are: his loving wife of 69 years, Stella; four children, Eugene (Lucy) Swystun of Smoky Lake, AB, Marie (Eugene) Woytowich of Saskatoon, SK, Patricia Fraser of Regina, SK and Karl (Lesya) Swystun of Saskatoon, SK; son-in-law, John Wandzura of Saskatoon, SK; eight grandchildren, Gayle (Chris) Billinton, Lisa Woytowich, Leslie (Mark) Ready, Leah (Blair) Johnson, Natasha (Ian) Lang, Chris (Jody) Wandzura, Ruth and Hannah Swystun; ten great grandchildren, Kimberley, Kyle and Katrina Billinton, Samantha, Leanne, Alex and Kaitlyn Ready, Andrew and Lucas Johonson, and Amazia Wandzura; sister, Nettie Bazarkewich; and many nieces, nephews and god-children. Steve was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Swystun; daughter, Adeline Wandzura; son-in-law, Art Fraser; brother, Michael Swystun; sister, Ann Betzkal; two brothers-in-law, Nick Betzkal and Peter Bazarkewich.

The Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. The Divine Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hafford with Rev. Fr. Michael Fedoriv as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Orolow Cemetery.
