Ann Catherine Smith Murphy age 94, of Mockingbird Dr., Springfield, died at 2:15 am Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Nortons Women's & Children's Hospital in Louisville.

Born March 21, 1927 in Springfield, she was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Gertrude Buckman Smith, her husband, Thomas A. Murphy, a grandson, Michael Donnelly, a brother, Jake Smith and two sisters, Aline Ball and Nodie Barber.

She was a graduate of St. Catharine Academy but attended Springfield High School for three years, had worked as a bank teller at Springfield State Bank for 64 years and was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.

She is survived by a son, Tuck (Sharon) Murphy of Jacksonville, Florida, a daughter, Joan (Tommy) Donnelly of Springfield, four grandchildren, Daniel (Tori) Murphy, Jonathan (Camille) Murphy, Patricia Murphy and Kaelyn Donnelly (Alex) Browning, six great grandchildren, Noah, Quinn and Drew Murphy, Addilyn, Titus and Joy Murphy.

Funeral mass for Ann Catherine Smith Murphy will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday, May 29, 2021 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. David Farrell officiating. Burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ben Miles, Eric Cambron, Joe Auberry, Wakefield Barber, Alex Browning and Johnny Murphy.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Grigsby, Jim Ball, William Young, Chuck Smothers, Durbin and Martin Murphy and Ronnie Mattingly.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, May 28 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Friday and again from 7:00 am till 9:30 am Saturday morning.
