Stan was a graduate of Coal Creek High School. He served with the Indiana National Guard 1954-1956 and was a 35-year employee of RR Donnelley & Sons as a bindery operator. Stan was a member of the former Wingate Christian Church, Crawfordsville Moose Lodge #6 and Crawfordsville Eagles #1005.
Stan was a family man and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On their birthdays, he would give them cash and tell them it was "beer money" for the future. Stan was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears and John Wayne movies. He enjoyed NASCAR with Kyle Busch as his favorite driver, campfires, swapping stories, working on cars and mowers and gun collecting. He enjoyed sitting in his outdoor swing and visiting with anyone who stopped by.
Surviving along with his wife are three daughters; one foster daughter; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bob (Darlene) Lyon; great-grandson, Chance Heisel; sister-in-law, Connie Cooper; and brother-in-law, Charlie Wade.
Visitation hours are from 6:00–8:00 PM on Thursday, May 27, 2021 with funeral services at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 28, 2021 with Chaplin Tom Richason officiating at Family and Friends Funeral Home in Wingate. Interment will follow in New Richmond Cemetery.
