George "Coot" Williamson of Milton, Florida, went to be with Our Heavenly Father, Sunday, May 16, 2021 after a long illness.
George was born in Bratt, Florida, where he lived for many years before relocating to Milton.
George was known as "Coot" to most of his friends and family as the nickname was given to him as a baby by his beloved Mom and continued throughout his life. He was a professional painter for over 50 years.
He was a dedicated family man and a better friend could not be found. He was loyal and trustworthy and of strong Christian faith. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Lillie Mae Williamson; by his wife, Gertrud Hopkins; four sisters, Gracie Mae Gunn, Ida Bell, Mary Denton and Louise Brantley; and a brother, Pete Williamson.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 24, 2021, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel (6405 Hwy. 90, Milton, Florida 32570.
He will be laid to rest at Juniper Cemetery in Chumuckla Florida.
Visitors may pay their respects 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the services.
