Phyllis Jane (Buddle) Wright, 90, Altoona, died Friday, May 21, 2021, at The Presbyterian Village, Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona on February 26, 1931, the daughter of George Patterson and Beulah Gertrude (Coy) Buddle. On June 1, 1957, she married Carl Laton Wright, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Juniata, and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2011.

Surviving are five children: David L. Wright (Jeffrey Cogan) of Fishertown, Lisa J. Harten (Kenneth Myers) and Deanna L. Mitchell, both of Juniata, John L. Wright (Michele) of Perrysburg, Ohio and Marsha L. Wright of Juniata. She was preceded in death by a sister, Erdean B. Ross.

Mrs. Wright was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Juniata, where she was the pianist and organist and the church's financial secretary for over 45 years. Following the closing of St. John's Lutheran, she became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Juniata. Phyllis was also a member of the Altoona Chapter of the Eastern Star for approximately 70 years.

She was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked in the office for Blatchford's Furniture Store, and for Gable's Department Store, where she did gift wrapping. Phyllis retired in 2012 from the Altoona Mirror, after 43 years of service, having worked in both the Classified and Circulation Departments. Phyllis was an avid embroiderer, she enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano and organ, sitting on the porch enjoying the birds and flowers, and talking with family and friends.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Elizabeth Hess officiating. Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 408 N 6th St, Altoona, PA 16601.
