Charles F. "Chuck" "Buster" Gosnell, 67, of McCracken Lane, Karns City, died early Sunday morning, March 12, 2017 in Meadowlark Manor at Sugarcreek Rest following a brief battle with cancer.

Charles was born in Canton, OH on October 18, 1949. He was the son of the late James F. and LaDean Cecil Schuster Gosnell Bossart.

He was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School in Canton and later attended classes and became a certified wastewater treatment specialist. In 2008, disability retired his career at Marathon-Ashland Refinery in Canton.

Charles was a faithful Christian. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Canton, was a life member of the NRA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gunsmithing. Charles was a cat lover, often adopting and caring for rescued cats.

Charles is survived by his wife, Diana L. Paden Gosnell, whom he married in Navarre, OH on November 2, 1996. Also surviving is a son, James F. Gosnell of Brewster, OH; two daughters, Tracy Bratcher and Jennifer Yaekey, both of Illinois; two step daughters, Cassandra L. Divers and Crystal M. Rottman, both of Karns City; grandchildern, Gabby Turnbo, Brandon Gosnell; four step grandchildren, Timmothy Divers, Megan Divers, Kyle (Kristen) Rottman, and Susan Brewer, and a step great granddaughter, Maylyn Whitaker; two sisters, Dorothy Ann Dennis and Ceclia Kathryn (Richard) Babik, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law.

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City.
