William Green Tackett, 87, of Piketon, Ohio, passed 8:47 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at his home.
William was born June 6, 1933 in McGoffin County, Kentucky the son of the late Willard D. Tackett and Liddie Margaret (Tackett) Tackett. On December 23, 1982, he was united in marriage to Nancy (Estep) Tackett, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, six daughters, twenty-seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, William Tackett, two daughters, Rita Hodge and Michelle Francis, four grandchildren, Darrell Howard, Jackie Tackett, Christopher Tackett and Justin Helton, five brothers, Edgar, Dock, Ed, Ted and Fred Tackett and three sisters, Mellie Russell, Stella Russell and Nellie Montgomery.
William was a local carpenter and attended Givens Free Will Baptist Church.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Professional Case Management nurses of Scioto County: Angie, Jason, Shelley, Shonda, Sarah and Dusty.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly with Pastor Robert Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Bridge Street, Waverly, Ohio.
Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
