Shirley Mae (Wren) Denny was born in Council Hill, Oklahoma on February 16, 1937 to Tom and Ethel (Peters) Wren. She passed away on May 16, 2021 in Quinton, Oklahoma at the age of 84

She is survived by:

Two daughters:
Debra Anthony and husband, Wayne, of Killeen, TX
Dianna Eldridge and husband, Chris, of Bentonville, AR

Two sons:
Dan Denny and wife, Pam, of Hartshorne, OK
Doyle Denny and wife, Angie, of Owasso, OK

Eight grandchildren:
Ronny Anthony and wife, Charity, of Salado, TX
Amy Clark of Temple, TX
Bryan Denny of Krebs, OK
Melody Goodsell and husband, Shawn, of Hartshorne, OK

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ethel Wren; her husband, Theron Doyle "Flub" Denny; her brothers, Eugene "Buddy" Wren and Lloyd Wren; and her sisters, Nona Osborn, Jeanne Bender, Leola Powell, Mary DeLay; Gladys Stephens, Freda Morris, and Sarah Wren.

Shirley worked numerous roles during her lifetime, including 26 years in the Haskell County Courthouse. She worked as a foster grandparent for many years. She was raised in the Sandridge Pentecostal Church and raised her children there as well and was a member until she relocated to Quinton where she attended Greater Refuge Church for the remainder of her life.

She was a devoted wife, mother, granny, and Christian. Her favorite role was that of "Granny." Shirley enjoyed reading and going places. Her husband often commented that her middle name should have been "GO."

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Quinton Manor for the exceptional care of Shirley during the last eight years.

Viewing will be held at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, May 17; from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 18; with Family Visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm; and from 8:00 am to 11:30 am on Wednesday, May 19.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Sandridge Pentecostal Church with Rev. George Mantooth, Rev. Brian Bryant, and Rev. Melvin Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Brooken Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler
