Mary Catherine Childers, age 93, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 16, 2021 in the comfort of her daughter's home in Lexington. Catherine was born on February 05, 1928 to the late Joseph Elmer and Imelda Elizabeth (Brady) Hughes of Lebanon. Catherine loved her family, the outdoors, her flowers, and her many cats. Her family will truly miss her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert, a daughter Pamela Jane, and two sons, Michael Nelson and Gerald Ray. She is also preceded in death by six brothers, Viella, Patrick, Robert, Joseph, Gregory, and Thomas Hughes and two sisters, Nora Hardinger, Gertrude O'Bryan. She is survived by two daughters, and five sons, along with six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two siblings. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at St. Augustine. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Bluegrass Hospice Care or to the Marion County Humane Society.
