J. Kenneth Sagers, 93, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday November 4, 2007. He was born to John Smith Sagers and Jessie Emma Hall Sagers in Burley, Idaho on March 1, 1914. He attended school in Montpelier, Idaho and Morgan, Utah. He had a career in retail sales, greatly loved his family, doing genealogy and serving his Father in Heaven.
He married Louie Etta Musser on September 1, 1937 in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. She preceded him in death on September 6, 1989. He and his family lived in Ely, Nevada, Salt Lake City, Utah, Cedar City, Utah, Grand Junction, Colorado and Greeley, Colorado, returning to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1967. After Louie died, he met and married Joye Fackrell on January 17, 1992. Together they served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints in Roswell, Georgia for 18 months. After they returned from their mission, they moved to Parowan, Utah where they resided until the time of his death. He was a High Priest in the Parowan 3rd Ward.
He is survived by his wife Joye, his five children and their spouses, John and Brenda Sagers, Sidney and Leslye Sagers, Mary Anna Geertsen, Jessie and David Kraettli and William and Leota Sagers. Also Joye's two sons and their spouses, Dan and Kerri Guthrie and David and Robin Guthrie, his brother Paul and his wife Jean Sagers, 29 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Louie, his brother William Dalton Sagers and two grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. at the Tooele 6th Ward Chapel located at 235 South 200 East in Tooele, Utah. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 6-8 at Tate Mortuary located at 110 South Main in Tooele, Utah. On Friday, November 9, 2007 it will be held from 10:30-11:30 at the Church.
Interment will be in the Tooele City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
