Nancy Ann (Clark) Burger, was the third born of six children of John C. Clark and Isabell Clark. On October 31, 1910, she married John George Burger and they had three children together: John George Burger (Jr), born April 15, 1916, a daughter Thelma Louise Burger, born on February 7, 1919, and a daughter, Marguerite Ellen Burger, born February 7, 1921.

Nancy and George lived the better part of their lives in Swan, MO, operating the big General Store there, selling all manner of goods and holding the Post Office for the area. Their big home was the welcome site for many family dinners while Blue Creek, just across the road, with it's clear, sparking waters, was the perfect 'swimming hole' for all the children.
