Effie was the second of three children born to Isaac Emery Timmons and Sarah Ellen Story. About 1895 her family moved to Peggs, Indian Territory, where she met Henry C. Hudson, of Joplin, Missouri. She and Henry were married in 1905 and had three children: Henry C., Raymond G., and Fay V. In 1906, they moved with Henry's family to Pawhuska on the Osage Reservation in Oklahoma Territory. She and Henry divorced in 1918, after which Effie briefly moved to Eastland County, Texas, to be near her sister. About 1921 Effie remarried to George Meadows and was later divorced. About 1932 she moved with her son Ray to Orange County, California, where her sister had previously relocated. There she married Richard Albert Vega about 1944, and they lived in Santa Barbara until her death in 1946.
