Betty Gay Sisson was born May 9, 1932 in Houston, TX to Harold and Frances Gay Sisson and lived the majority of her life in Houston. She was raised Catholic by loving grandparents, Clinton (Nanny) and Mary Ellen Brandin. She attended Incarnate Word Elementary School in formative years and Reagan High School where she enjoyed participating in the Redcoats Dance Team making many lasting friendships.
July 29, 1952, Betty married Charles French and they were together until his death in 1995. She is preceded in death by two of her five children, Patrick Charles French and Katheryn Gay Sander. Her surviving adult children are Sharon Kay French, Charles French, III, and James Clinton French. Betty also had two siblings. Her brother, Raymond Porter, who preceded her in death and her surviving sister, Martha Sorenson.
Betty was always surrounded by family and friends that loved her dearly. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with whom she enjoyed many holidays, travel, and family dinners.
At the age of 84, Betty retired from South Coast Supply Company after 30+ years of service. She often said she enjoyed working and would have continued had she not suffered the serious fall that left her injured.
Betty enjoyed great times and memories with her lifelong friends Bobbie Taylor and Mary Pedrazas.
