Kenneth "Kenny Wayne" Franklin, 65, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Sybil Ruppe Franklin for 46 years and the son of the late John Franklin and Hattie McAbee Franklin.
Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam Franklin and Roy Lee Franklin; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gilmer and Ruby Ruppe.
In addition to his wife, also surviving are a son, Jason Franklin (Crystal) of Gaffney; a daughter, Dana Franklin Jackson (James) of Gaffney; a brother, Dick Franklin of Gaffney; four sisters, Betty Wallace, Ginger Wallace, Cookie Coyle (Runt) and Kay Bailey, all of Gaffney; seven grandchildren, Lanna Franklin, Kaylee Franklin, Kensley Franklin, Elizabeth Franklin, Jana Jackson, JT Jackson, and Kara Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joel Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Compassus Hospice, 212 E. Floyd Baker Blvd., Gaffney, SC, 29340. The family will be at the residence.
