Oscar was a glassworker by trade and had many hobbies throughout his life. He loved to fish, work on T.V.'s and radios, was a CD radio enthusiast, enjoyed cooking, coin collecting and sitting in his recliner bird watching.
Oscar loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Newman, Sr. and Jenny Newman; the love of his life, Ruth Newman; two sons, Larry Newman and Billy Newman; four sisters, Savannah Rutledge, Opal Edwards, Mildred Brown and Rosemary Stroud.
Oscar is survived by three daughters, Linda Dressendorfer (Gary), Lou Anne Patrick (Richard), Angela Burnett (Otis); one son, David Newman; one sister, Loretta Benton; A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A Father's love is forever imprinted on his children's heart. In life, we loved you dearly; in death, we love you still. Graveside service will be 2 PM, Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Fort Smith National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
