James T. Lynch was the son of Gray Lynch and Nancy Thomas. He married Mary Melissa Lane 9 Mar 1847 in Miller Co, MO. They joined Mary's parents and siblings on a wagon train to Oregon in 1853.

Mary died in Sublimity, OR in 1859.

James then married Priscilla/Permelia Frost 7 Nov 1866 Linn, OR.

By 1880, they moved to Klickitat, WA, and were still there in 1887.

James is buried in the same cemetery as his son John Q. Lynch and his family. He died between 1900-1910 in Drain Co, Oregon. He and his wife Permelia are listed in the 1900 Census in Comstock, Douglas, Oregon.

James and Mary had also had:
A daughter Priscilla b. 1851
A daughter Mary b. 1855, and
A son Aden Thomas b. 1853 -d. 1880-1883 Sublimity, OR.
