A visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton with a funeral service following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wyanet, Illinois. Military rites will be conducted by the Princeton Veterans Group and the Wyanet V.F.W Post #6634.
Charles was born May 23, 1947 in Mendota, Illinois the son of Everett and Geneva (Crain) Travis.
He married Julia Anderson on August 16, 1966 in Walnut, Illinois. She survives in Morris.
Chuck is also survived by his mother: Geneva Travis; 5 children: Charles A. Travis, Jr., James Travis, and Richard (Kathy) Travis all of Marsailles, IL, Cherri (Brian) Woodin of Manlius, IL, and Robert (Michelle) Travis of Henry, IL; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings: Raymond Travis, Riley (Susan) Travis, Penny (Guy) Sharkey, Debbie (Mark) Baker, and Geneva "Jane" (Lonny) Jones;
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett, four siblings: Shannon, Rocky, Ronald, and Robert Travis, one grandson, Tyler Travis, and a great-grandson, Malik Brown.
Chuck earned his GED and studied maintenance courses.
He worked at Dupont and retired from Agrium.
Chuck enjoyed fishing, golfing, and bowling. He liked to go to the boat and road motorcycles with the Twin River Riders.
He served from 1966-1968 in the United States Army at Fort Rucker, Alabama.
