Next of kin had given 24 Sep 1916 on the application for his military headstone, but the powers that be lined it out in red and wrote in above it in red 24 Sep 1915.
He was age 2 years and 3 months on the census of 15 Jan 1920, which I calculate back to Sep/Oct 1917.
On the 26 Jan 1940 census he was listed as age 23 which would make his birth year 1916.
