James Richard "Dicky" Albright, 85, died on Monday, the 10th day of May, 2021, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born in Pineville, he was the son of the late Leroy and Jasmine Durham Albright and the widower of Anna Elizabeth Harrod Albright, to whom he was married to for over fifty-seven years. Dedicated to his God and his country, he was a member of the Shelbyville First Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran. A Past Master of the Solomon's Lodge No. 5 of Free and Accepted Masons, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over sixty-two years. Engaged in the community, he was involved in youth sports, coaching little league basketball, refereeing high school football and keeping the clock for Shelbyville High School basketball, Shelby County High School football and Shelby County High School basketball. He was a devoted fan of old western television shows and movies. He was also an active swimmer, who swam four to five days a week at the Shelby County Family Activity Center. He retired from the United States Postal Service where he had a lengthy career as a letter carrier. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Lou "Boots" Shepherd, Leroy "Buddy" Albright, Bonnie May Robinson, Doris Jean Woodruff, Martha Patsy "Pat" Vest, and Jackie T. Albright.

His survivors include his daughter, Laura Beth Albright of Shelbyville, and two dogs, Jillie and Sammy.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, the 15th day of May at 2:00 P.M. at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville with Ray Albright officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:45 P.M., Saturday, 15 April, 2021, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville. Social distancing must be observed and anyone entering the funeral home will be required to wear a mask. Interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Shelby County Parks for the Clear Creek Park Family Activity Center, 717 Burks Branch Road, Shelbyville, Kentucky 40065 or to the Woodstock Animal Foundation, 843 Lane Allen Road, Lexington, Kentucky 40504.
