Brian White Bear
Brian Scott White Bear, Sr., 54, a free spirited and longtime resident of Billings, Montana passed away April 6, 2021, after losing his battle sustained from brain injuries.
Brian was born May 17, 1966 in Crow Agency, Montana. The son of Bruce and Barbara White Bear. He is a member of the Crow Tribe.
While growing up in Hardin, Montana he attended Hardin schools and St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana he worked various jobs. Brian spent a lot of time with extended family from the Two Leggins Area on the NZ Ranch with the Grant family where he received the nickname "Cowboy Bob" from the late Preston Grant. He looked forward to going to Miles City Bucking Horse Sale. Brian also spent time with his aunt Sylvia and Family at the Wolf Mountains. He shared many memories of his fun adventures. The White Bear family later moved to Billings where he lived out his remaining years. Brian always greeted you with a smile and could talk your ear off if you let him. He always loved listening and singing old country music especially Merle Haggard and would often listen to Lonnie Bell on Sundays.
Brian was preceded in death by his father Bruce White Bear, Sr.; mother Barbara White Bear; brothers Daniel, Russell and Robin White Bear.
Survivors include his daughter Kirsten (Ace) White Bear; son Brian White Bear, Jr. both of Billings, Montana; sisters Brenda (Vinnie) Vink, Jeani Doney of Billings and Lori (Kevin) Mendenhall of Washington; brother Bruce White Bear, Jr. of Alaska; three grandchildren Caelio, Baby Ace and Mossiella; as well as many nieces and nephews. Justin "Jushin" Chavez was his favorite nephew in which he spent a lot of time with him growing up.
The family would like to give a special thanks to David and Lisa Contrarez family for always unconditionally caring for Brian and taking him in their home throughout the years.
A memorial service will be held Saturday May, 1 2021 at 11:00 AM at Bullis Mortuary in Hardin, Montana. Cremation has taken place and a private service where Brian's ashes will be placed with his father at the Fairview Cemetery in Hardin, Montana.
