She is predeceased by her parents; her husband; her only brother, Bill and her daughter-in-law, Debbie.
She attended Nazareth College where she obtained a music education degree. She met the love of her life, Raymond Woods, at a blind date mixer dance at Nazareth. Pat and Ray were married on June 21, 1951. The two were happily married for forty-five years until his passing in 1996.
Pat touched the lives of so many children as she shared her love of music by teaching for fourteen years at the Neil Armstrong School in the Gates Chili School District. She spent summers in Old Forge on third lake in the Adirondacks taking in the natural beauty of upstate New York. She retired from teaching and moved to Florida where she again used her musical talents playing piano at several churches in the area and at numerous parties and holiday events. She was also a long time member of the Bay Chorale of Bradenton. She loved going on cruises and somehow turned this love of travel into a working position as the craft instructor as she sailed around the seas. She was an avid bridge player and it was outwardly known if you wanted to call yourself good at it, you had to beat Pat!!
She built long term friendships during every aspect of her life still spending time with college friends and neighbors from her early years. For the past forty years, she enjoyed hosting and sharing time with anyone who came to Florida on vacation. She lived a full and active life surrounded by friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Kathy (Gil), Carol (Dave), Debbie (Spin), Lori (Mickey), Tim and Mary Ellen (Craig); nine grandchildren, Debra, Joe, Danny, Jenny, Kelly, Katie, Emily, Kyle and Rachel; six great-grandchildren, Brayden, Aiden, Addie, Tenley, Garen and Landon; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Pat will be forever in our hearts!
A small service to Celebrate Pat's life will take place at a later date in Rochester, New York.
Donations may be made to The American Cancer Society PO Box 42040 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123 or to the Nazareth College Development Office 4245 East Avenue Rochester, New York 14618 in memory of Patricia O. Woods.
