Mike was born May 25, 1932, Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, a son of Michael J. and Clarys Fulton Cleary. He married Dolores "Dee" Straits on November 29, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Susan (Bill) Van West, and their children, Max and Katelyn, Anne (Jeffrey) Levin, three sons, Michael (Dianne) Cleary and their children, Emily, Lauren and Michael, Matthew (Nancy) Cleary and their children, Matthew, Jack and Bridget, David (Jeanne) Cleary and their children, Brian, Erin, Daniel and Thomas, three brothers, Dr. Tom Cleary, David (Carol) Cleary and Jim (Joan) Cleary, five sisters, Colleen (Cozz) Regele, Sr. Catherine Cleary, Sr. Audrey Cleary, Dr. Anne Lyons and Clarys Souter.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and a brother, Robert.
He was actively involved in St. Mary's Catholic Church, El Paso, where he was past president of the Holy Name Society, a member of the Archbishop Fulton Sheen Knights of Columbus and a trustee of St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Mike graduated from St. Bede Academy, Peru, and attended St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa. He farmed in the Gridley area for more than 40 years.
