Obituary - Doris O. Wagner, 90, rural Erie, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at the Elmhaven West Nursing Home in Parsons.
She was born Feb. 24, 1913, in Neosho County, the daughter of Walter E. and Hallie Walker Beard.
She grew up on the family farm south of Erie and graduated from Erie High School. She attended some post high school courses in Laharpe.
She worked for the Neosho Valley Creamery for several years before working at Erie High School for many years until retirement.
She was a member of the Federated Church in Erie and was involved in church activities.
She enjoyed traveling and collecting antiques.
On April 8, 1933, she married Paul Wagner. He died June 3, 1979.
Survivors include two sisters, Anita Craig and Willa Yockey, both of Erie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walker Beard and Eugene Beard, and one sister, Zoe Sears.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. today at the Federated Church, Erie, led by the Rev. Ralph Jarboe. Burial was in East Hill Cemetery, Erie.
