Melody Thomas, 58, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 27th at the Avera Heart Hospital surrounded by family and immense love. Melody Diana Rogers was born on October 16, 1960 in Harbor City, CA. She was constantly on the go early in her life, living in CA, AZ, IL, OR, TX and finally landing in Sioux Falls in 1993. Although growing up in California, Sioux Falls was home. After moving to Sioux Falls she met Tim Thomas, fell in love, and on August 23, 2003, was united in marriage.

Melody was a proud wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to take every opportunity to tell stories of the accomplishments and achievements of her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren. She was an outgoing, energetic, warm women who touched a lot of people's lives in her journey through life. She loved to take care of others, play darts, was actively involved with Pink Ladies and many other causes. There are many who will cherish those memories and remember all the great times that were shared.

Those that are grateful for having shared her life include her husband, Tim, of Sioux Falls, SD; her children, Charity (Robert) Small of Sioux Falls, SD, Raymond (Brianna) Hiles of Colorado Springs, CO, Constance (Heath) Hiles of Sioux Falls, SD, Chad (Trisha) Thomas of Sioux Falls, SD, Sarah (Phil) Schaaf of Jasper, MN and Tracy (Josh) Thomas of Sioux Falls, SD; 13 grandchildren, Samantha, Carissa, Matthew, Hailey, Cameron, Emerson, Madison, Cloey, Nikki, Lincoln, Lathen, Madison, and Spencer; a brother, Darrell (Cora) Rogers of Arlington, TX; and four sisters, Elsie Rogers and Clarene Wright, both of Sonoma, CA, Carol (Scott) Burkhalter of Pomona, CA and Darlene (Rick) Matteson of Southaven, MS; special friends, Dan Nace of Sioux Falls and Melissa Wycoff of Maud, TX; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ann Rogers; two brothers, Bobby and Sunny Rogers; and her beloved dog pugs.

Memorial services will begin 11:00 am Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Main Avenue location. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to service time.
