Robert, whom everyone called Bob, was born November 23, 1943 to Bert Bayer and Gertrude Irene Krantz.
Bob was predeceased in death by his parents.
Bob leaves his brother: Bert Lee Bayer; and nephew: Daryl Lee Bayer of Florida.
Bob married Alicia Shaw and had two sons: Hayden Bayer of Florida and Alan Bayer of Texas; he leaves two grandchildren: Austin and Alison of Texas.
Bob attended McKinley, Grant and Northlawn Grade Schools in Streator where he played the trumpet in the band and graduated from Streator High School in 1962. He worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Company in maintenance and then became a refractory bricklayer. Bob went into the motorcycle business with his brother, Bert, and formed Bayer Brothers Cycle Sales in the '70s. After selling the business he traveled all over the world as a refractory fire bricklayer. Retired at the age of 50 even though Bob was a polio victim at a young age, it never stopped him from doing anything; he lived many years in Florida until his death where he loved motorcycle riding and fishing. He will be missed.
