Yvonne J. Phillips-Rice, 70, of Hamden, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018. She was born in the Bronx, New York to the late Frank and Irene (Wright) Phillips on May 15, 1948. She worked as a care provider with the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services.
Yvonne leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Susan Witcher-Vidro and Leslee Witcher; stepchildren, Craig Rice and Kim Rice; brother, Joseph G. (Vernita) Phillips; grandchildren, Jessica Vidro and Evon Vidro; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Rice.
Viewing will take place Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511. A celebration of her life will take place Friday, June 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at The New Trinity Temple C.O.G.I.C., 285 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511.
