Gerald M. Hodges, 77, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Gerald was born in Rockingham County to the late Joe Ben Hodges, Sr. and Pearl Cochran Hodges.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Ben Hodges, Jr., and sisters, Rachel Moorefield and Benny Ann Allison.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Scarlett Spears Hodges: children, Gerald Todd Hodges and wife, Karen, Tara Hodges Bradford and Reid Hooper, Kurt Hodges and wife, Beth; and granddaughter, Katherine Bradford. Katherine was the apple of Papa's eye. He loved her and there's nothing he wouldn't do for her and she loved him even more. He was the best Papa in the world. He was also survived by many special friends including Betty and Ronnie Daniels, Mary and Marshall Moricle, and Judy and Irvin Chapman. He always appreciated the "house calls" from his personal physician and friend, Dr. Gil Bradford.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 7, 2021, at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
