Mr. William A. Hahn, son of Adolphus and Caroline (Jacobs) Hahn. While a young man , he learned the glove business and followed this vocation until he was twenty-two years of age. He then took up the trade of tinning and plumbing under his brother, Charles M. Hahn. After his brother's death, he formed a partnership with Mr. Rowe, trading under the name of Hahn & Rowe. He was successful as a business man, he was the owner of bank stock and also possesses a block of stock in the W. F & G. Railroad Company.
He was married in 1883 to Alverta Hobbs. She was the daughter of Mrs. Margaret Hobbs, of Frederick City. This marriage had issue of three daughters: (1.) Lena V. Hahn, deceased, who was the wife of Clifford Snyder, of Lancaster PA.; (2.) Ellen C. Hahn; and Margaret A Hahn.
