James Darden May, 92 of Forest, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021.

He was born on Monday, February 18, 1929, in Salem, VA, a son of the late Everette Charles May and Willie Clara May.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Frank May and George May; sisters, Arlene Witt and Violet Jenkins.

He was a Veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by his wife, Iris Wood May, a special sister-in-law, Linda Hammack, and numerous nieces and nephews. T

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Brian Taylor, Rev. Wayne Murphy, and Pastor William Clarke officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm prior to the service. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider a Charity of their choice. Arrangements are being handled by the Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Bedford.
