Mrs. Cox passed into eternal life on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Carroll Pointe Nursing and Rehab in Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Sally was a native and lifelong resident of Oak Grove, Louisiana. She was born in the same house where she resided all of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Oak Grove. Sally was a graduate of Oak Grove High School and attended Louisiana Tech University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, majoring in commercial art. But after completing her first year of college, she was offered a position as a teller and bookkeeper at the Bank of Oak Grove, where she worked for 15 years. She met her future husband, Charles E. Cox, while at her job and they eventually married. Charles was a combat veteran of WWII, and was serving in the active reserves of the U. S. Army, when the Korean War broke out. He was called back into combat and served over a year, before returning to Oak Grove. Upon his return, he asked Sally to marry him on December 24, 1951. They were one of the first couples to marry in the new First United Methodist Church in Oak Grove on May 4, 1952.

Charles and Sally founded Kidder-Cox Funeral Homes, Flower Shops and Insurance in 1956. They later changed the name to Cox Funeral Homes, Flower Shops and Insurance. In 1963, they founded Carroll Nursing Home. Sally was a licensed funeral director, florist and nursing home administrator but she enjoyed working as a florist the most. They worked for many years, along with their children, in the family businesses.

She was actively involved in her children's lives. Sally served as a den mother for the Cub Scouts and was a Girl Scout leader serving on the Silver Waters Council of the Girl Scouts of America. Sally taught youth Sunday school classes and was involved in the Methodist youth fellowship of the First Methodist Church. She was a 67 year member of the Oak Grove Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a 72 year member of the William Carroll Chapter of the DAR.

Sally was a true Southern lady; loving, generous, gracious, and kind.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Cox; her father, Jerry Thomas Williams; her mother, Delia Elizabeth (Briggs) Williams; infant brother, Jerry Moore Williams; infant sister, Mary Lucille Williams; sister, Sue Irene (Williams) Howard; sister, Laura Mae (Williams) Soniat; and brother, Thomas Arthur Williams.
