Mr. Austin passed away at his home near Winona Sunday afternoon Nov. 16th, after an illness of a year or more. He was native of Montgomery County having been born in the county Sept. 24, 1864. About 21 years ago he went blind but this did not render him helpless, for he learned broom making, a business which prospered until ill health forced him to retire. He was a member of Bethleham Methodist church.
Survivors are his wife, Mattie Greenlee Austin; 2 sons, Vernon Austin & Wilburn Austin of Winona; 3 daughters, Mrs. Jack Montgomery of Hattiesburg. Mattie Ruth Austin & Louise Austin of Winona; 3 sisters, Misses Mattie & Bettye Austin of Winona & Mrs. Bell Love of Kilmichael; 1 grandchild.
