Michael Norman Peterson was born September 28, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA. He was 78 years old when he passed away at home on April 26, 2021 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

He was raised in Norton, Kansas where he graduated from high school. In 1962 he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served until, he retired at the highest enlisted rank as Master Chief Petty Officer in 1988. While stationed in Honolulu, he was asked to be the best man in his Navy buddy's wedding where he met the maid of honor, Carol May Dumaran. He caught the wedding garter, and she caught the bridal bouquet, who knew then that they would be married for 56 years and have 3 daughters, Michelle, Shannon and Kristina.

Michael is survived by his wife, Carol, daughters, Michelle Northcutt and husband John, Shannon Crerar and husband, Chris, and Kristina Peterson, he has five grandchildren and one great-grand child. He is survived by six brothers and sisters: Kenneth Peterson and wife Kay, Pat Becker and husband Max, Nancy McClelland and husband Kennis, Larry Peterson and wife, Jeannie, Teresa Albers and husband, Ronald, and Maurice Peterson and wife, Jennifer. He left behind many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Helen Peterson, brothers Joe, Charles, Don and a sister, Alice Gosha and granddaughter, Hope.

An open Rosary, Memorial service and reception will be held at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012 on May 15, 2021 starting at 2:00 PM. Due to Covid restrictions a private burial will be held at a later date at the VA National Cemetery in Dallas.
