HONEYVILLE – Lois Grant Hunsaker, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2002 after a lingering illness at Peach Tree Place in Brigham City, Utah.

She was born on January 27, 1915 in Logan, UT to Abraham and Flora May Theurer Grant. She graduated from Box Elder High School and studied at Weber State College. She was Brigham City Peach Queen in 1931. Lois married Alton Alma Hunsaker on February 20, 1932 in Brigham City and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her callings included President of the Young Womens Organization, serving in the ward Relief Society presidency of Honeyville and the Stake Primary presidency. She spent many hours doing temple work and her and Alton served a 2 year ward temple mission.

She worked 20 years in the Box Elder County Courthouse and 10 years as Deputy County Recorder.

Lois enjoyed gardening and was very proud of her prize roses. She also loved sewing and quilting and did extensive traveling through out the world.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, husband and her son Alton Grant Hunsaker.

Surviving are her daughter; Carol Hunsaker (Russell) Shepherd, Ogden, UT, daughter-in-law; Joelynne Thomas Hunsaker, Pocatello, ID, nine grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a sister Leah Grant Baugh, Harper Ward, UT

The family would like to thank Peach Tree Place and Utah's Heritage Hospice for their unconditional service and loving care they gave to Lois.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 1, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Honeyville 2nd Ward Chapel, 2620 W. 6980 N., Honeyville, UT.

Friends may call Sunday 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT and Monday 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Honeyville Church.

Interment will be in the Honeyville Cemetery.
