Mrs. Dickey was born in Durham Co., the daughter of the late Willie Vollers and Clara Pegram Vollers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Ernest Dickey; sister, Elizabeth Caldwell; great-granddaughter, Gracie Beck; and son-in-law, Ernest Buchanan.
Mrs. Dickey is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Buchanan; son, Leon Dickey and wife Wanda; brothers, Jimmy Vollers and wife Becky, Johnny Vollers and wife Joy; grandchildren, Dawn Beck and husband Lenny, Amy Cordon and husband Jason, Brian Buchanan and wife Carly, April Bassing and husband Josh, Skylar Poland and husband Richard; great-grandchildren, Tyler Buchanan and wife Bri, Chance Morton, Nicole Buchanan, Jackson Beck, Jacob Buchanan, Michelle Bassing, Caleb Buchanan, Kenley Beck, Jack Morton, and Maverick Bassing.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 2 at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham with Pastor Jerry Sands officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, May 1 at Clements Funeral Home. The family is being assisted by Clements Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. in Durham.
