Oldest son of Cicero Randolph
Bowles, Sr (1832-1907) and
Elizabeth Williams (1842-1905).
He married Delona 'Lonie' Cheek
2 Nov 1887 in Walton Co. GA.
'C.R.' Bowles moved his family
to Smith County by covered
wagon abt 1890. They had two
Children at the time. Virgil
Anderson was two and Jenny Mae
was a new born. They were met
in Mineola, Wood, Texas by
C.R.'s uncle, Wm. A. Bowles.
They settled in Garden Valley
and had 10 children. Twin sons
were stillborn. A son, Gurley
Bowles died at abt age 6. They
are buried in Garden Vally
Cemetery with only rocks to
Mark their graves. Seven of
their children lived full,
productive lives. They Are:
Virgil Anderson, Jenny Mae,
Willie Hubert 'Bud',
Rilla Idell, Vassie, Curtis,
and Beatrice.
