Prior to her illness, Susie was employed as a Relationship Banker at BB&T for 20 years, waited tables at Colonial Restaurant for over 30 years and was a member of Berea Baptist Church. Susie was known for her warm smile, her selfless generosity, and her kind and compassionate spirit. Above all else, Susie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband, Susie is survived by a son, Tony Jones; a daughter, Laura Alvarico and husband Roger; two grandchildren, Caylee and Emily Alvarico; a step-grandson, Corey Alvarico; a brother, Leon Chambers and wife Sandra; three sisters, Debbie Joslin and husband Mike, Vickie Cox and husband Ken, and Karen Wood and husband Jeff; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Twiford Memorial Chapel.
