Susan "Susie" Chambers Jones, 62, of Turners Ave, Elizabeth City, NC passed away at her residence on Thursday, January 17, 2019 after a long illness surrounded by her family. Born on May 19, 1956 to the late Carlton Thomas Chambers and Doloris Alexander Chambers, she was the wife of 44 years to Franklin "Glen" Jones of the residence.

Prior to her illness, Susie was employed as a Relationship Banker at BB&T for 20 years, waited tables at Colonial Restaurant for over 30 years and was a member of Berea Baptist Church. Susie was known for her warm smile, her selfless generosity, and her kind and compassionate spirit. Above all else, Susie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who will be greatly missed.

In addition to her husband, Susie is survived by a son, Tony Jones; a daughter, Laura Alvarico and husband Roger; two grandchildren, Caylee and Emily Alvarico; a step-grandson, Corey Alvarico; a brother, Leon Chambers and wife Sandra; three sisters, Debbie Joslin and husband Mike, Vickie Cox and husband Ken, and Karen Wood and husband Jeff; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Twiford Memorial Chapel.
