..................
George Ronald (Ron) Ellis died of throat cancer in Blythe on Feb. 4, 2021.

Ron was born in Lynwood, to George and Frances Ellis. He grew up in Manhattan Beach and Yucaipa. Ron graduated from Yucaipa High School in 1965 then married Judy, joined the Navy and served in Vietnam. Upon his return, he graduated college and became an electrician.

He and Judy also owned and operated Video Discount Rental in Calimesa for many years. Ron was a 50 year member of the IBEW local 440 Electrical Union. His last position as an electrician was at the Chuckawalla State Prison. He was also life member of the VFW and past quartermaster of Post 2987. After retirement he took up a paper route in Blythe and in humor called himself a "paperboy." Ron stayed creative and busy making odd things work and liked to teach a lesson without you knowing it.
He was proud of raising four daughters and enjoyed showing his love and adventurous side to his family. Ron enjoyed making friends, traveling, water skiing, fishing, camping and having a beer. Throughout his life he had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor.

Ron is survived by his wife Carla, of 14 years; four daughters, Shelley Ganly (Mark), Ronda Barnes (Shayler), Heather Ellis (Scott), Carrie Yost (Terry) and one stepson Joshua Hampton; Nine grandchildren: Miranda and Isaac Ganly, Courtney and Tanner Barnes, Tristan and Alyssa Janus, Chloe and Tyce Yost and Brittney Fuglie (Hampton); brothers Dave Ellis and Bob Ellis; sisters Sheila Hironimus and Laura McGehee; step-mother Patty Ellis: aunts Shirley Marsolino and Joyce Ellis and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father George A. Ellis and his mother Frances Jacquet, stepfather Richard Jacquet, sister Linda, granddaughter Cambria Yost and stepson William Hampton.

No services are planned per Ron's wishes.
