Helen "Marie" Stone, 88, of Apex, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at Transitions Lifecare Hospice in Raleigh on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
She was born on February 19, 1933, in Wake County, a daughter of the late Lawrence Ennis and Lynnette Mills Ennis.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Stone, three brothers, John, Bobby, Lynn, and one sister, Susan.
She is survived by her three children: John Lee Atkins II, wife Joyce, Joan Atkins, and Steve Atkins, wife Nell; six grandchildren, Tim Baker, wife Angel, Carl Lee, wife Anna, Tonya Gray, husband Jason, Steven Atkins, wife Niki, John Lee Atkins III, wife Darby, Morgan Wilder, husband Brandon; nine great-grandchildren, and her sibling Mike Ennis.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Catawba Springs Christian Church, 6801 Ten-Ten Road, Apex, NC 27539. The family will receive friends 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
