Betty C. Butts was born in Union, Mississippi on June 6, 1935, the daughter of late Ernest and Mittie Wells, passed away April 10, 2021.

Betty graduated from George S. Gardiner HS in Laurel MS, class of 1954.

After graduation she moved to New Jersey where she worked in data processing for the state of NJ for 25 years and where she met her beloved husband James Butts and married on April 11, 1959. Together they shared 48 years of marriage until James passing on November 11, 2007. She loved to get away to their place in the Pocono Mountains, enjoyed camping, and traveling across the US, and taking cruises with her family. Betty was an avid sewer and spent her time doing arts and crafts, always found time for a good romance novel.

In 1979, her and her family moved to Jupiter, Florida where they lived for 30 years. She became a loving grandmother, MeMa to all who knew her. Betty attended St. Peters Catholic Church where she was baptized and became a devoted Catholic.

After her husband passed, she moved to Hobe Sound, FL to be closer to family, and attended St. Christopher Church regularly. Ten years later she moved to Sebastian, FL with her daughter where she passed away with family by her side.

Survived by a son, Frederick J. Butts (Wendy); a daughter, Rebecca A. Hilderman and her husband Donald; two grandchildren, Vanessa and Erik and two great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, James J. Butts; a sister, Beverly Mackel and 4 brothers, Hester, Ernest Lee, Forest, and Reginald.

Services will be held at Aycock Funeral Home on May 8th following a burial where she will be laid to rest at Riverside Memorial Park alongside her beloved husband.
