Mr. Doyle R. Roberson, age 71, of Rockmart, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 1998 in a Rome hospital. Mr. Roberson was born April 24, 1927 in Polk County. He was a machine shop operator and a member of Euharlee Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bannie Moore Roberson; and three brothers, Parker Roberson, Hugh Roberson, and John L. Roberson. Survivors include his wife, Doris Owens Roberson of Rockmart; a son, Ray Roberson of Powder Springs; two stepsons, Jerry Womack of Bowden and Ricky Womack of Rockmart; three stepdaughters, Remonda Compton, Dianne Rayburn both of Aragon and Connie Barnett of Rockmart; two sisters, Nadene Bennett of Aragon and Ivanette Ashley of Rockmart; 12 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, November 27, from the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Rayburn and the Rev. Dewey Atchley officiating. Interment followed in Aragon Cemetery. Pallbearers included Ricky Bennett, Billy Bennett, John Argo, Richard Argo, Glenn Yarbrough, Randy Barnett, Danny Ashley, and Tim Duren. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
