Julie Maurine Roscoe was born December 15, 1960 in Pipestone, MN the daughter of William and Joan (Stolte) Roscoe. Julie grew up just north of Pipestone close to Verdi on the family farm. She attended school in Verdi until she was a freshman when they sold the family farm and moved to Pipestone, MN. She then attended Pipestone High School and graduated in 1979.

She then attended South Dakota State University and graduated in 1983 with a Degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked at a daycare center in Brookings, SD.

Julie loved to play softball and this is where she met her husband to be, they met while playing softball in a coed tournament. She was united in marriage to Mark D. Reed on October 2, 1993 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Pipestone, MN. They made their home in Brookings, SD and Julie then opened her own daycare.

Julie was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

Julie loved playing softball, watching basketball, football and especially the SDSU Jackrabbits, Minnesota Twins and Vikings. She especially enjoyed watching her children play soccer over the years and never missed any games if at all possible, even while fighting cancer for over 15 years. She never wanted to miss anything her family did and she got her strength through everything her family and the community did for her.

Julie wanted to thank her family and the community of Brookings for all they have done for her and her family. She felt that the people were so giving and caring and she gained her strength through them.
