Before his retirement, he was owner of Miracle Water Sales and Service. A longtime member of Carr United Methodist Church, he belonged to the Dunn Fellowship Class and attended as along as health permitted. Bryant was a charter member of the Evening Optimist Club and a 1987 Durham Merchants Association "Father of the Year".
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert (Rob), Luther, and Fuller Walker; and six sisters: Frances Briggs, Laura Smith, Emma Long, Eva McKinney, Eunice Garrett and Pearl Walker.
One sister, Ruby Smith, survives, as do all of his children. Seven grandchildren will also miss their "Poppy". They are: N. Bryant Walker II, Frances Stuart, Jim Walker, Patti Dickerson, Kelly Murphy, Dan Walker and Mark Dunnagan. Poppy also leaves seven great-grandchildren: Justin Walker, Sam Stuart, Will Dickerson, Gregory Murphy, Zack Murphy, Avery Dunnagan and Xander Dunnagan. He will be missed, too, by his feline "babies", Otis and Lady Bug, who loved him unconditionally. He also is survived by brother-in-law, George D. Stephens and many nieces and nephews.
