20 May 1937: Fayetteville - Bert N. Salg, age 56 years a former resident of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday at his home in Congers, N.Y. after a long illness. Mr. Salg was the son of Abram Salg and the late Nellie Williams Salg. He had been away from this village about 18 years. He was an illustrator and did work for "McCall's" as well as other magazines and books. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home of his father, Abram Salg, of Clinton street. The Rev. Dewitt S. Hooker officiated. Mrs. Frank Benedict and Mrs. R. Smith sang at the service. Surviving him besides his father are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Hopkins Salg, and one daughter, Mildred; also one sister, Mrs. Harry Abriel of Fayetteville. Burial was in Fayetteville cemetery. Arrangements were by C.R. Eaton. [Thrift-News]
