ROY — An elderly Logan woman was killed instantly Tuesday afternoon when she was struck by a car at 4975 S. and U84.
The victim was Mrs. Hazel Parkinson McAlister, 75.
She had been staying with her daughter, Mrs. Alvin Beutler of 1965 W. 4975 S. Alout 4:40 p.m. Mrs. Beutler let her mother out of the car and Mrs. McAlister started across the highway from east to west to visit a fruit stand.
SOUTHBOUND CAR
She was hit by a car driven by Junior David Call, 34, of Bountiful, who was southbound on the highway.
Mrs. McAlister was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Leon H. White of Roy.
No citation was issued pending further investigation.
The fatality was the 14th in Weber County this year. A year ago the fatality toll was 12 at this time.
Hazel Parkinson McAlister was born July 1, 1889, in Hyde Park, a daughter of Dr. William Brigham and Clarissa Taggart Parkinson. She was married to Frank Snow McAlister Aug. 16, 1911. in the Logan LDS Temple. He died Sept. 15, 1949.
TEMPLE WORKER
She attended Logan schools and was a member of the Logan Fourth Ward and had been a temple worker. She frequently visited at the home of her daughter in Roy.
Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Clarissa) Beutler; four grandchildren; and several half-brothers and half-sisters
The funeral will be Friday at noon at the Hall Mortuary in Logan where friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 9 and Friday prior to services. Interment will be in the
Logan City Cemetery.
