She was born November 19, 1941, in St. Louis, MO, to John R. Sr., and Lenora (McCogan) Kell. She married Kenneth "Pops" Allen on July 2, 1960, in Brimfield, IL. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2015.
She is survived by four children, Mary "Kathy" Hippen of Peoria, Lorie Vance (Kenny Rynearson) of Brimfield, Lisa Allen of Brimfield, and Keith Allen (Rhonda Strappe) of Mapleton; one sister, Barbara Stevenson; six grandchildren, Justin (Elizabeth) Hippen, Jessica White, Michael Vance (Melissa Drake), and Joseph Vance, and Kenneth John Allen and Jacob Allen (Amy Irvin); and one great-grandson, Brayden Bailey.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John R. Kell, Jr; and one grandchild, Erica Allen.
Betty enjoyed China guild, China painting, and ceramic painting. She was a member of the Brimfield United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Brimfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to B.Y.E. Ambulance, Brimfield Fire Department, or the Brimfield Food Pantry.
