J.J., the son of Jerry Wayne and Beverly (Chance) Stewart, Sr., was born May 1, 1975, in Newton. He attended school in Colfax. J.J. was a mechanic, having done work on his own and working at the Walmart Auto Center for 13 years. J.J.'s true passion was working on vehicles.
J.J. is survived by his son, Colton (Marissa) Stewart of Rogersville, Missouri; his parents, Jerry and Beverly Stewart, Sr. of Newton; his siblings: Ann (Pat) Morrow of Clinton, Tim (Heather) Sholley of Newton, Vernon (Melinda) Sholley of Omaha, and Scot (Audra Lewis) Stewart of Newton; his 9 nieces and nephews; 18 great-nieces and nephews; his aunt and uncles: Carolyn Sullivan, Kenny Chance, Rich Chance, Tim Chance, and Chuck Chance, all of Newton; and his beloved cat, Mister.
J.J. was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Nola Stewart and Frank and Veronica Chance.
